Finca Moncloa
On the route of the ‘Pueblas Blancas’ in Andalucia, Arcos de la Frontera is considered to be one of the most beautiful towns in Spain. The area is generally associated with sherry production, but in fact has a long-forgotten tradition of making red wines, with records dating back to the 14th century, particularly from the little known Tintilla de Rota grape variety.
Finca Moncloa, one of the Gonzalez Byass Singular Estates collection, is a 42-acre estate on clay and limestone soils, with a Mediterranean climate, producing red grapes with great intensity. Full flavoured wines from unique blends of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah with Tintilla de Rota are aged in French oak, producing delicious full flavours with surprising finesse.
For wine lovers looking for something completely different, Tintilla de Rota is also vinified into a sweet red dessert wine unlike any other. Following the discovery of a recipe found in the Gonzalez Byass archives detailing a wine sold to the Spanish royal family in 1841, this style has been reimagined with deliciously unexpected results.
