Beronia Rueda 2016 has become one of the most popular Verdejos from the Rueda Designation of Origin this year, as it received a Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and one of the Baco Awards 2016 Vintage. This double success, achieved in two of the greatest appointments with wine every year, has placed Beronia Rueda as a benchmark verdejo wine in the Spanish wine scene.
The juries of these two competitions, made up of outstanding sommeliers, oenologists and wine prescribers, distinguished the quality of Beronia Rueda, a 100% verdejo white wine resulting from two different makings, with grapes from the same vineyard: an earlier and a later vintage.
The fruit of this peculiar making process –which seeks an explosion of aromas as well as a greater concentration and complexity in the mouth– is a wine of a pale-yellow colour with greenish tones. With great aromatic intensity, it has nuances of fennel, white flowers, fresh grass and a rich background of stone fruit. This elegant Verdejo is the ideal summer match to fish, white meat, pasta and rice.
