Fino Tres Palmas by González Byass, best sherry of the year

Published on

"From a different dimension" is how the "Proensa Guide to the Best Wines of Spain 2016" describes Fino Tres Palmas by González Byass, to which it has awarded 100 points. This historic score has placed this wine gem, a part of Colección Finos Palmas, as the best sherry according to the Spanish wine guides of 2016.

The result of thorough selection and classification in the caves by Antonio Flores, winemaker of González Byass, this sherry marvel has left a lasting impression on the main wine guides in the country. “Guía de vinos Gourmets 2016”, the oldest among the publications specialising in Spanish wine, has awarded 96 points to this genuine Fino Amontillado, whereas the "Peñín Guide to the best wines of Spain 2016", for which more than 11,200 wine samples from all over Spain have been tasted in its latest edition, has distinguished this sherry masterpiece with 95 points.

Temperance, wisdom and style emerge in Fino Tres Palmas, a very old Tío Pepe which, after 10 years, still keeps some traces of yeast that magically interact with the wine. After long years of aging, Fino Tres Palmas shines through its green, copper and old gold reflections. On the nose, where the hints of wood claim a place of their own, the aromas of oak, toasted sugar and caramel are predominant. Strength and elegance are the main features on the palate, where everything ends in a salty, creamy finish.
