Flor de Caña launches a special edition of its ultra-premium rum Flor de Caña 12 Years. Under the name "A Legacy of Generations", a tribute to art is paid through international painting and poetry. The exterior of this case features a spectacular original painting by the Nicaraguan artist Augusto Silva and contains a book with a poetry anthology by Honduran Rolando Kattan, encompassing the works of 49 poets representing 38 countries in 16 original languages around the world as well as their translation into Spanish.
The painting on the case is an artistic representation –by painter Augusto Silva– of the volcano San Cristóbal, the most active one in Nicaragua and an iconic element for Flor de Caña, since it is the area where its rums are born and aged. The fertility of these grounds and the volcanic climate to which the barrels are exposed during the aging stage make Flor de Caña a uniquely balanced soft rum.
Likewise, the literary collection "A Legacy of Generations" contains the works of poets of great international prestige from the five continents where the brand is present, representing countries such as China, Russia, USA, Australia, Canada and a number of nations in Europe and Latin America. The collection includes the Spanish works "Dogmatism is the Rush of Ideas" by Luis García Montero, "Doubt" by Miguel Albero and "Horaris nocturns" by Joan Margarit.
"A Legacy of Generations" sends a clear message of how poetry can unite through a single code, despite languages and diversities. In its pages, a Chinese poet writes to the indigenous peoples, a Russian poet tours the Prado Museum in Spain and a Swedish writer converses with the moon of the Tang dynasty. The abstractions of time and geography are dissolved in the same way that Flor de Caña usually gathers a variety of people at a single table, with its extraordinary flavour and its 125 years of tradition.
