González Byass invests in wine region Rías Baixas with Pazos de Lusco

Published on

González Byass strengthens its position as one of the reference groups in the Spanish wine scene through the purchase of a winery within the Galician Designation of Origin Rías Baixas. With the purchase of Pazos de Lusco, this Family of Wine is now present in 9 of the Spanish Designations of Origin and Regional Wine Designations: Jerez, La Rioja, Cádiz, Cava, Penedés, Rueda, Somontano, Castilla and Rías Baixas.

Pazos de Lusco, a renowned winery in Rías Baixas, is located in Salvaterra do Miño. The vineyard was planted using the traditional pergola system, which makes the albariño grapes express their best. The winery is in the heart of the vineyard, an unusual location for a region characterised by small farms. It also has a beautiful sixteenth-century property, consisting of a Casa Grande or manor, a chapel, stables and a small auxiliary house.

Albariños Lusco and Pazo Piñeiro are wines with limited production that beautifully represent the true essence of the Galician terroir. With this acquisition, González Byass strengthens its portfolio and consolidates its leading position in terms of quality wines.

Rías Baixas is one of the most prestigious designations of origin, both in Spain and beyond its borders.
