González Byass has announced its exclusive distribution agreement in the Spanish market for the Whyte & Mackay (W&M) brands, a leading global company in the production and distribution of premium spirits. This renowned Family of Wine and Premium Spirits, founded in 1835 in Jerez and currently led by its 5th generation, will be in charge of distributing such prestigious malt whiskey brands as The Dalmore and Jura. Founded in 1881, Whyte & Mackay bases its philosophy on excellence and the pursuit of the highest quality in all its products. These are the very same pillars that support González Byass, which has found in these whiskeys the ideal product to expand its offer in Spain. Both companies have actually been collaborating for over 100 years, when the Mackenzie family, founder of The Dalmore distillery, saw in González Byass's sherry casks the perfect choice for the aging of their legendary whiskey. Verónica Amago, European Director of White & Mackay, points out that: "2017 represents the beginning of a new stage for Whyte & Mackay in Spain. We take a new course now with González Byass, a very well-known house to us which shares the same vision as our company. We are confident that together we will consolidate all our brands at a national level, and we will be able to increase our presence in the Spanish territory.” As regards the new agreement, Juan Carlos Zorío, Commercial Director of González Byass, states: "We thank Whyte & Mackay for their trust in González Byass to develop and make grow together such important and widely recognised brands in the world of whiskey as the one it has in its portfolio. This announcement now joins our two previous distribution agreements, which incorporated Nicaraguan rum Flor de Caña and Champagne Deutz.” The agreement took effect in January 2017.
