González Byass triumphs at Mundus Vini

Mundus Vini, one of the leading wine contests in Europe, has awarded a Great Gold Medal and ten Gold Medals to a group of González Byass Sherry wines (Designation of Origin Jerez-Sherry), Viñas del Vero (Des. of O. Somontano) as well as Chileans wines Veramonte, Primus, Ritual and Neyen. More than 6,000 samples from the main wine regions of the world have participated in this event celebrated in Germany, one of the main countries in terms of Spanish wine consumption, and a key market for this Jerez-based Family of Wine. González Byass Sherry Wines The jury of the competition, made up of renowned experts from the world of wine, has acknowledged the quality and uniqueness of VORS Del Duque Amontillado, Apóstoles Palo Cortado and Matusalem Oloroso Dulce, three wine gems that have rested for more than 30 years in the González Byass cellars in Jerez. The list of winning wines also includes Néctar, a Pedro Ximénez that ages for 9 years in American oak barrels and stands out as an ideal dessert wine. Viñas del Vero Viñas del Vero, Somontano's leading winery, has once again triumphed for the second year in a row at this international competition, where its wines Blecua 2009, Viñas del Vero Clarión 2013 and Viñas del Vero Chardonnay 2016 have been awarded a Gold Medal each. Veramonte, Primus, Ritual and Neyen Chilean wines Veramonte, Primus, Ritual and Neyen complete the list. Among them, Neyen 2012 stands out as Best Wine of Chile and the award of a Great Gold Medal. Additionally, Veramonte Sauvignon Blanc 2016, Ritual Pinot Noir 2015 and Primus The Blend 2014 were awarded a Gold Medal each. About Mundus Vini Regarded as the most important wine competition in Germany and one of the most prestigious in Europe, Mundus Vini receives samples for participation from around the world. Since it was founded in 2001, this event aims at promoting wine commerce and the quality of the wines that compete in it.
