Pedro Ximénez Muy Viejo V.O.R.S, new Great Gold Bacchus

Published on
Spain’s most important wine contest, the Bacchus International Wine Competition, has awarded Noé Pedro Ximémez Muy Viejo V.O.R.S. a Great Gold Bacchus. After several days of tasting, this wine gem by González Byass has been qualified with the highest distinction by a jury composed of journalists, winemakers, Masters of Wine and Sommelier Masters from all over the world. Of limited production, this Pedro Ximénez ages for more than 30 years in barrels of American oak. The result of this long aging process is a very old sweet wine, of an intense, thick ebony tonality. On the nose, it awakens powerful warm aromas of raisins, enriched with notes of roasted coffee and spices. Bacchus International Wine Competition This event, where more than 1,500 wines from all over the world are blind-tasted, is a benchmark of prestige and independence and has become the major meeting with the world of wine in the country. At present, it is the only contest in Spain member of VINOFED, the federation that integrates the most prestigious wine competitions worldwide. It is also recognised by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment of Spain.
