Vilarnau, again among the best champagnes and sparkling wines of the world

Published on

For the second year in a row, Vilarnau Brut Reserva has been awarded a Gold Medal at The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships, the event regarded as “the Oscars of champagne and sparkling wines”, organised by Tom Stevenson, the most prestigious world expert in the matter.

This competition, which only grants Gold and Silver Medals, confirms the global recognition of Vilarnau. The jury, made up of top-ranking specialists such as Mistress of Wine Essi Avellan and Dr. Tony Jordan, wanted to stress, once again, the personality of these cava wines born in the Mediterranean, whose making is based on the highest quality and the respect for environment.

Vilarnau Brut Reserva is made following the traditional secondary fermentation method, followed by an in-bottle aging of at least 15 months. The result is a cava wine combining the balance provided by the Macabeo grape variety, the acidity and freshness of Parellada and the aromatic enhancement of Xarel.lo.
