Viñas del Vero introduces a unique jewel: Alfaya. Its goldsmith, Fernando Piró, has designed a pendant inspired by Viñas del Vero Gewürztraminer, the most emblematic white wine from this winery. With Alfaya, Viñas del Vero has breathed life into a piece of jewellery that evokes all the greatness that surrounds the Somontano area, as well as the new image of Viñas del Vero Gewürztraminer 2016.
Viñas del Vero Gewürztraminer 2016 is made with selected grapes grown on "El Enebro" plot. It stands out for its striking luminosity in the glass, casting an elegant combination of golden and green shines. In the nose, it possesses a great aromatic potential of white flowers and oriental fruits, which are joined in the mouth by pleasant sensations enveloped in a silky and sensual touch.
Alfaya is the name chosen for this singular gem, a term used in the ancient Somontano Aragonese to refer to the jewels of the time. With a limited edition, Alfaya is an exclusive pendant made by hand and finished in first grade golden silver, reminiscent of the colour of the Gewürztraminer grape variety.
Piró, creator of the Medal of Hispanity (2008), defines this jewel, which reflects the essence of Viñas del Vero Gewürztraminer, in the following manner: "It is some walks among millenary stones, misty autumn sunrises, the crystal-clear waters that run along the river Vero. It is difficult to condense all the Somontano in one piece: its colours, its textures, the aroma of its fields. Sunset reflections in its pink quartz, the green of the vine in the jade, the blue of the water that gives life to the core stone. And silver, which, plated in gold, evokes the colour of this Gewürztraminer. "
Alfaya is presented in a custom designed case that becomes a jewellery box full of details and contains a bottle of Viñas del Vero Gewürztraminer 2016 next to the exclusive pendant designed by the artist.
The passion for innovation is one of the precepts at Viñas del Vero, a pioneer winery not only in the world of winemaking and viticulture, but also in the presentation of innovative proposals. Among them are its latest initiative, "Alfaya", and the creation of a "Gewürztraminer Perfume", the world's first female fragrance based on the highly distinctive aromas of this grape variety.
