Finca Moncloa is a member of González Byass' Singular Estates Edition and owns 42 hectares of vineyards and clay and limestone soils. Mediterranean climate allows vines to grow here with great intensity. Located near the 'Pueblos Blancos' in Andalucía, Arcos de la Frontera is one of the most beautiful cities in Spain. The area is usually associated with sherry production, but actually there is a long tradition of red wine production from the 14th century. González Byass discovered the quality potential and bought Finca Moncloa in 2000.
This year the Jamessuckling.com Tasting took place in Rioja. As described on the website, it was carried out by managing director and editor-in-chief James Suckling together with his son Jack and senior editor Nick Stock. More than 2,100 wines were tasted.
James Suckling commented on the tasting as follows, “Many wines have been tasted in the past 10 days. It was a great experience with excellent wines, meetings and tastings with the winemakers from all over Spain. It showed us once again that the wines of this country are currently among the best and most distinctive in the world.”
