The latest edition of the Vinduero Awards has awarded Gold Medals to Beronia Reserva 2010 (P.D.O. Rioja); Viñas del Vero Chardonnay Colección 2014 (D.O. Somontano); Leonor Palo Cortado and Solera 1847 (D.O. Jerez) and Finca Constancia Selección 2012 (Vino de la Tierra de Castilla). After tasting 450 wines from 64 Designations of Origin from all across the Iberian Peninsula, the panel of judges, made up of 28 professionals from the world of wine, awarded five gold medals to the González Byass Family of Wines.
Beronia Reserva 2010
Being the only Rioja wine awarded a Gold Medal in the category of "red wines with more than 14 months aging", Beronia Reserva has placed itself as the best Rioja wine in the competition. An enveloping Reserva, full of potential and with a modern style, this wine, a truthful expression of the Beronia Style, adds a new success in an international competition.
Viñas del Vero Chardonnay Colección 2014
The Vinduero jury also awarded a Gold Medal to the freshness and authenticity of Viñas del Vero Chardonnay Colección. Regarded in Spain as one of the wines with greater recognition in its category, Viñas del Vero Chardonnay is the only Somontano white wine having received a Gold Medal in the category of "unwooded white wines".
Leonor Palo Cortado and Solera 1847
The González Byass sherry wines obtain further international recognition. This time, Leonor –a Palo Cortado of a deep Jerez character– and Solera 1847 –a true example of the versatility of sherry wines– have also won Gold Medals.
Finca Constancia Selección 2012
Finca Constancia has again become the Tierra de Castilla benchmark winery in the international arena. The Gold Medal won by Finca Constancia Selección in the category of "red wines aged between 6 and 14 months" represents a recognition to the innovative winemaking style of this wine, surprisingly complex and with a strong personality.
