The 7th edition of the Andalusian Prize for Research, Innovation, Development and Enterprise has granted recognition to González Byass in the category "Enterprise". These awards acknowledge and distinguish those entities and institutions that enable the contribution to innovation and technological development: in this case, González Byass fosters collaboration between universities and companies in Andalusia as a key driver of economic and social development in the region.
With this distinction, the Academy of Social Sciences and the Environment of Andalusia has wanted to recognise the permanent process of adaptation to a new reality that has allowed this Jerez-based winery, founded in 1835, to increase its competitiveness.
Mr González-González-Gordon, president of González Byass and member of the fifth generation of the family, received the prize during the awards ceremony held at the headquarters of the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery in Seville. The event was attended by the Vice-President of the Andalusian Government, Manuel Jiménez Barrios; the Regional Minister of Employment, Enterprise and Commerce, José Sánchez Maldonado; the president of the Academy of Social Sciences and Environment of Andalusia, Antonio Pascual; the Vice-President of Banco Santander Spain, Juan Manuel Cendoya; and Jesús Castiñeiras, president of the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery.
