The González Byass’ wineries in Jerez is the location chosen for the first Andalusian Cork Congress, to be held on March 10. Organised by the Jaime González-Gordon Foundation, the Friends of the Alcornocales Natural Park Association and González Byass, this meeting aims to show the full potential of this quality material, which is also ecological, sustainable, recyclable and renewable.
Producers, processors and winemakers will gather at this event to stress and disseminate the benefits of using this natural product and strengthen relations among all the actors involved. Largely widespread in the areas surrounding Jerez, the cork industry stands for sustainable economic activity, job creation and the protection of the biodiversity of these areas.
With its support to this first edition of the forum, González Byass wishes to raise consumer awareness about the importance of cork in the environment, as well as present it as an essential element in the production of quality wines. Through its sustainable programme “5+5 Cuidando el Planeta", González Byass carries out similar actions to promote development that respects the environment and promotes balanced growth, which can benefit everyone both locally and globally. Always looking ahead.
