González Byass, a winery that is leading the international expansion and knowledge of sherry, is one of the 100 Best Wineries in the World according to Wine & Spirits Magazine. The list comprises those wineries whose wines deserved the highest praise in 2015: this year, more than 15,000 samples from around the world were tasted for the American magazine. Two González Byass wines are among the best of the year: Apóstoles Palo Cortado Muy Viejo V.O.R.S, with 94 points, and Tío Pepe en Rama, with 92 points.
The tasting committee of the publication, made up of experts in the world of wine, has distinguished the uniqueness of Apóstoles, a V.O.R.S. Very Old Palo Cortado that perfectly reflects the trilogy of sherry: Palomino Fino, Pedro Ximénez and American oak. Similarly, Tío Pepe en Rama, a Tío Pepe at its purest, expresses the genuine character of sherry through a most natural and delicate fino wine.
This new success reinforces the González Byass commitment with the international expansion of sherry. The importance that the winery attributes to its roots, which have been deeply seated in Jerez since 1835, now crystallises in the making of wines such as Apóstoles y Tío Pepe en Rama: two names that show the uniqueness and top quality of sherry wines to the world.
