La Miranda de Secastilla Garnacha Blanca, a unique white wine awarded a Gold Medal at the 2016 Contest Garnachas of the World, has just been launched on the Spanish market. Made from the best grapes of the garnacha variety, at the vineyards of this estate located in the northernmost part of the Somontano area, La Miranda de Secastilla Garnacha Blanca renews the tradition of making white wines from this grape.
Harmonious and elegant, the wine embodies Viñas del Vero’s commitment to recovering traditional varieties from the Secastilla Valley. Located in the northeast corner of Somontano, the area displays the best features for white garnacha to show its full potential. The special Mediterranean microclimate of the vineyard, its altitude at 700 meters above sea level and its orientation favour an optimal ripening of the grape, which results in some highly expressive, unmistakeable wines, such as La Miranda de Secastilla Garnacha Blanca.
At plot "La Miranda", the white garnacha vines grow, thrive and ripe up to the moment they are picked, through a careful, delicate manual harvest. To achieve greater complexity, this unique Somontano white wine remains for four months in French oak barrels. In the nose, finesse and elegance stand out, evoking aromas of white fruit. The palate is soft, clean and balanced; it leaves a pleasant memory and perfectly reflects the unique terroir where it has grown: The Secastilla Valley.
