Lepanto Solera Gran Reserva Oloroso Viejo is "Best Distillate of the Year", according to the latest edition of the Verema Awards. More than 7,100 members from Verema, the largest Spanish-speaking wine online community, have acknowledged the quality of a unique brandy that is a synonym to excellence at every stage of its manufacturing process.
Lepanto is pure Jerez essence. It is the only Gran Reserva Sherry Brandy made from the native grape of Jerez: Palomino Fino; the only brandy distilled in Jerez in copper stills –through a double distillation process, part of the Charentais method; and a Brandy that ages for 15 years, of which 12 are in barrels that have contained Tío Pepe, and 3 more in casks having kept very old dry olorosos. And all taking place in Jerez de la Frontera.
The result of this thorough making process –supervised by Luis Miguel Trillo, master distiller of González Byass– is this genuine, well-structured and highly balanced Gran Reserva Sherry Brandy, of an elegant mahogany colour and aromas of oak woods. Lepanto Oloroso Viejo finds its ideal match in fat and blue cheeses.
