Beronia, one of the most awarded wineries from the Qualified Designation of Origin Rioja in the 21st century, has again garnered excellent results in the "World Tempranillo Competition", the greatest international event devoted to this grape variety. 578 samples from 28 Designations of Origin and Protected Geographical Indications of Spain took part in a contest where Beronia III a.C. 2012, Beronia Selección 198 Barricas 2009 and Beronia Viñas Viejas 2015 were awarded a Gold Medal each.
In this manner, the jury of the contest –made up of outstanding professionals from the wine industry– has wanted to reward the quality of these wines for which only artisanal and environmentally respectful techniques– from the soil to the bottle, and at every stage of their making process– have been used.
Three unique wine gems, a true reflection of the Qualified Designation of Origin Rioja: Beronia III a.C. –a complex, intense, lingering wine, made from a selection of Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano vines older than 70 years; Beronia Selección 198 Barricas –an exclusive and overwhelming reserva wine; and Beronia Viñas Viejas –a limited edition displaying the full potential of Tempranillo grapes.
