For the first time, Tío Pepe has positioned itself among the ten "most admired wine brands in the world", according to the ranking published by magazine Drinks International. More than 200 Masters of Wine, as well as journalists and sommeliers, made up the jury responsible for this list, which groups the 50 most consolidated wine brands in the world and features Tío Pepe as the only sherry winery.
This new success consolidates Tío Pepe’s commitment to the international expansion of quality sherries. Since its founding in 1835, Tío Pepe has shown the world the quality of these unique wines which, year after year, arouse more and more admiration. The #Sherryrevolution led by González Byass has brought about an unstoppable growth of sherry sales in countries like Germany, USA and England. In Spain, this movement has also begun to bear fruit and a new "golden age" for these ancient wines has been announced.
Mauricio González Gordon, President of González Byass, expressed his satisfaction and stressed "the need to continue efforts to ensure that González Byass is at the forefront of the wine industry through investment in its brands and innovations in the world of sherry, such as the launches of Tío Pepe en Rama and the Palmas Fino Collection. We are delighted to receive this recognition and meet all the requirements for quality, consistency and authenticity and so become one of the ten most admired brands of wines in the world".
