The Santa María Polo Club Sotogrande International Tournament, the great polo summer event in Spain, has selected Tío Pepe as its official wine. From July 27 to August 28, the Tío Pepe Terrace will be the meeting point where thousands of fans of this sport will enjoy a glass of Tío Pepe fino as well as the refreshing mixed drinks PepeTonic and Solera Mix.
González Byass’ bonds with polo date back to 1870, when Pedro Nolasco González de Soto – Marquis of Torresoto and son of the founder of this Family of Wine–introduced this sport in Spain and founded the Jerez Polo Club. Today, in the 21st century, González Byass continues to support and spread the polo culture through its partnership with a tournament that brings together the best polo players of the world.
Several wines from Bodegas Beronia (Qualified Designation of Origin Rioja) and Viñas del Vero (Designation of Origin Somontano) will round out the presence of González Byass at Sotogrande.
