The fifth edition of the Vinari Awards distinguished Vilarnau Gran Reserva Vintage 2011 with the Golden Vinari to the “Best Gran Reserva Sparkling Wine". A total of 870 samples from the main wine-growing areas of Catalonia participated in an event aimed at rewarding the best wines from the region.
The jury of the event –organised by the specialised portal Vadevi.cat– distinguished the quality and personality of this Vilarnau Gran Reserva. Vilarnau is a small artisanal winery that has been a pioneer in the application of sustainable viticulture and protection of the environment.
Made from the varieties Macabeo, Parellada, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Vilarnau Gran Reserva Vintage has gone through a delicate making process, with an ageing of over 60 months in the bottle. The result is a cava with a unique personality and full of golden hues, aromas of ripe fruits and remembrances of roasted nuts, perfectly balanced and well-structured on the palate. Served between 6 and 8 ºC, Vilarnau Gran Reserva Vintage is perfect to accompany white meat, poultry or fish in sauce.
