Viñas del Vero, the renowned Somontano Winery, has organised a first day of corporate volunteering in collaboration with WWF Spain, one of the most important nature conservation organisations in the world. The restoration work –which took place in an area near Peralta de la Sal, devastated by a fire in 2006– involved the planting of different species of trees and shrubs native to the region –mostly Mediterranean buckthorns, black hawthorns, tree germanders and holm oaks– so as to boost the improvement and recovery of forests and the local environment.
Employees of Viñas del Vero, together with their families, took part in a day of volunteer work, showing that the protection of the environment is a vital part of the company’s DNA. With this initiative, Viñas del Vero continues fostering "5+5 caring for the planet", the sustainability culture implemented by González Byass.
