The 30th National Tasting-Competition of Young Wines organised by the Spanish Wine Tasters Union –the Baco Awards 2015– has awarded a Gold Bacchus to Viñas del Vero Gewürztraminer Colección 2015. A total of 534 wines from all over Spain took part in the last edition of this event, where this renowned Somontano white wine was the only Gewürztraminer to receive a Gold Bacchus.
The jury, made up of 50 prestigious experts from the world of wine in Spain, highlighted the quality of this Gewürztraminer, made with grapes from estate "El Enebro". This loam-soil location in Somontano, facing north and located 400 meters above sea level, offers unbeatable conditions so that this hard-to-pronounce grape variety can display its full potential. Not surprisingly, Viñas del Vero necessarily brings to mind the history of Gewürztraminer in Spain: the winery planted the first grapes in 1990 and ever since has become its best ambassador in the country.
The final product is a bright wine, full of floral aromas, extremely silky and enveloping. Tasty and refreshing, this subtle white wine arouses a sea of sensations and feelings, which makes it a great choice to enjoy in the summer season. Salads, pastas, fish, seafood and exotic dishes perfectly pair with this intoxicating, powerful, sensual wine.
