Ranked number 2 “Best Vineyard in Spain” Bodegas Tío Pepe was chosen by the judges for having the world’s largest collection of Sherries and for being a bastion of winemaking traditions in the heart of historic Jerez de la Frontera.
The 2020 Top 50 reveals the most amazing vineyard experiences – the best places to taste terrific wines and learn about winemaking and grape-growing. Many also offer superb views, restaurants and places to stay.
The list of wineries covers five continents and 18 countries and Bodegas Tío Pepe stands out in the “World’s Best Vineyards” as one of only two Spanish wineries to make it into the top 20, in the company of some of the world’s most famous winemaking names, including modern architectural wonders, UNESCO-protected ancient cellars and Michelin-starred restaurants.
Commenting on the achievement, Diego Talavera, international sales director, said, “Being ranked in the top 20 World’s Best Vineyards puts us amongst some of the must-visit wineries, in the world’s best-loved wine regions.” He continued, “It is incredible to see the Tío Pepe and González Byass names alongside such renowned properties whose visitor experiences have been recognised as setting the global standard.”
Family and wine define the five generations of the González family’s history which has been dedicated to making fine wines, brandies and premium spirits since the 1830’s. Their commitment to wine tourism and creating an outstanding visitor experience, such is their dedication to promoting tourism in Jerez and Sherry wines, that the company has just launched a luxury, boutique hotel in the heart of the city, designed to reinforce the González Byass passion for creating unforgettable experiences centred around the culture of wine and Sherry.
