Special tours, unique gastronomic experiences, the most authentic flamenco, the Bodega Tío Pepe Hotel and support for talent make up “Spend Summer at the Winery”, González Byass’ wine tourism programme for this summer.
González Byass is offering the opportunity to spend the summer at the winery and enjoy the world of wine and gastronomy in every corner of its magical premises. The “Spend Summer at the Winery” initiative runs across July and August and features innovative, unique experiences that include master-classes, special tours and live music to take you long into the evening. As a final touch, you can stay overnight in the Bodega Tío Pepe Hotel. The programme also includes gastronomic experiences provided by leading, long-established local restaurateurs, in the inimitable setting of González Byass’ patios, gardens and vine-covered streets.
The winery at its most intimate
This summer, visitors will have the opportunity to gain an intimate insight into the winery by visiting corners that have never been opened to the public before, whilst enjoying a tasting of González Byass’ vinous jewels at nightfall. As well as this experience, the “Spend Summer at the Winery” programme also features tours that have never been run before and will take wine enthusiasts round the property’s gardens, patios, cellars and vine-covered streets in the historical heart of Jerez.
Savour gastronomy
Three outstanding Jerezano restaurateurs will be bringing their restaurants to González Byass to introduce visitors to the region’s gastronomy. Throughout August, La Carboná will be offering its menu in the gardens of the los Gigantes bodega, whilst from 15th July until the end of August el Bichero and Bocarambo will be serving their gastronomic offerings on the Patio of La Constancia and in the gardens of Villa Victorina respectively.
Feel the flamenco
“Spend Summer at the Winery” is promoting the authentic flamenco of Jerez with performances by first-class artistes, both singers and dancers, on 14th and 15th August. These “Jerez Flamenco and Solera Evenings” will feature La Macanita, Jesús Méndez y Felipa del Moreno on the first night and Tomasito the following evening.
Stay overnight at the winery
The Bodega Tío Pepe Hotel is set to open on 11th July. It will be the first Sherry hotel located within a Jerezano winery in the heart of the city’s historical centre, between the Cathedral and the Alcázar, with views of the old Jerez.
Supporting talent
The programme includes support for talented young musicians by offering them the opportunity to perform at “La Tonelería” one evening. Visitors there will be able to enjoy nightfall at the winery and linger in the cool of its patios sipping novel, sherry-based cocktails.
“Summer at the winery” is sponsored by Cajasur and supported by IKEA.
