The process by which Lepanto is produced, together with the experience of its maker, González Byass’, have endowed this Solera Gran Reserva Brandy de Jerez with some unique features that have earned it a Gold Medal at the “International Spirits Award”. Organised in Germany, the competition has since its inception in 2004 been awarding prizes to the best premium spirits in the world. One of these is a Brandy de Jerez: Lepanto Solera Gran Reserva.
Whether neat, in a cocktail or paired with a blue cheese, Lepanto Solera Gran Reserva is perfect for drinking a toast with on any occasion. Because every step in the production of Lepanto, from the vine to the glass, is taken slowly and surely, with great care. The result is the only Gran Reserva Brandy made entirely in Jerez from wine made from Palomino Fino grapes (which are indigenous to the area), distilled in “Charentais” type stills and aged in Sherry Casks previously used to age Tío Pepe in for at least 12 years in the hundred-year-old González Byass cellars.
Lepanto Solera Gran Reserva, the entry that received the most votes in the “Brandies” category from the members of the Spanish Association of Wine Writers and Journalists (AEPEV), is an unusual drink whose caramel-like aromas and delicate flavour linger in one’s memory for a long time. It is, without doubt, the best treat for when you want a break from the usual.
