Hugh Hudson visits González Byass

Publicada el
Hugh Hudson, director of films such as "Chariots of Fire", has recently visited Bodegas Tío Pepe in Jerez. Two members of the fifth generation of the family –Carlos del Río and Mauricio González-Gordon, President of González Byass– accompanied the British director on a tour through the iconic and historic nooks and crannies of the wineries. During the tour, Hugh Hudson could learn how fino Tío Pepe is made: this sherry is highly acclaimed in his country and also one of his most beloved wines. He could also plunge into the mysterious world of Palo Cortado by tasting Leonor Palo Cortado –a wine of deep Jerez character– and Apóstoles Palo Cortado Muy Viejo V.O.R.S. –one of the house’s wine jewels, which ages in American oak barrels for over 30 years. Lastly, Hudson signed one of the winery’s casks. Hugh Hudson is now part of the list of great personalities from the world of cinema who have visited the Tío Pepe wineries, such as directors Orson Welles, Steven Spielberg and Juan Antonio Bardem, and actors Elizabeth Taylor, Mel Ferrer and Esther Williams.   About Hugh Hudson Hugh Hudson was born in London in 1936.
