Resounding success of the González Byass sherry wines in the United Kingdom

Publicada el
Two González Byass sherry wines have recently triumphed in two major worldwide competitions: the Decanter World Wine Awards and the International Wine Challenge. As in previous years, some wine gems from the Finos Palmas collection and the exclusive, 30-year-old soleras VORS made an impression on these two British wine contests. Especially outstanding among them, Amontillado Cuatro Palmas –a Tío Pepe taken to the extreme, with 48 years of aging– was awarded an International Trophy at the Decanter World Wine Awards. This wine competition, organised by the prestigious British magazine Decanter and entered by more than 16,000 wines from around the world, also awarded Fino Una Palma a Gold Medal. Similarly, the 32nd edition of the International Wine Challenge, with more than 15,000 registered wines, awarded both the Amontillado Trophy and a Gold Medal to Amontillado Cuatro Palmas. In addition, Fino Tres Palmas received the Fino Amontillado Trophy and an additional Gold Medal. V.O.R.S. Apóstoles and Noé also won Gold Medals, regaining the success they achieved in the preceding edition. Antonio Flores, oenologist and master blender at González Byass, said that "the results of this year are unprecedented and demonstrate the extraordinary quality of the González Byass sherry wines, as well as the expertise of the technical team of the house." The Finos Palmas Collection and the exclusive, 30-year-old soleras VORS can be purchased on the González Byass online shop.
