Tío Pepe en Rama 2015 has just arrived: a lively and exciting wine from the best casks from the historic soleras at Bodegas Tío Pepe –Tío Pepe Rebollo and Tío Pepe Constancia. A limited edition, this bottled delicacy is tapped only from barrels that stand out for their unique organoleptic characteristics, described by Manuel María González, founder of González Byass, as "those exceptional aging casks". Tío Pepe en Rama 2015 is a unique wine which has surpassed itself this season. Of a pale yellow hue with olive-green and gold reflections, it has an elegant nose, where the distinctive touch of the 'flor' or yeast –intensified by the wine’s unrefined nature– is the most striking note. Its aromas of almond and yeast perfectly match its intense and complex –but still fresh– palate, which leaves a salty, very expressive finish. The label of the 2015 edition was obtained using original, historical designs kept by the González Byass Foundation through its Historical Archive. “En Rama” Inspired by the days when fino wine was consumed directly from the cask, fino en Rama has not been subjected to the usual processes of fining and filtration. Tío Pepe en Rama –the purest Tío Pepe– expresses the unique character of sherry through a fino that has been obtained in the most natural and delicate of manners.   Its presentation to the world Tío Pepe en Rama 2015 will be presented at the Guardiola House Palace, located in Seville’s old city, to coincide with the city’s most important celebration: the Seville April Fair. Accompanied by Pedro Rebuelta, deputy president of González Byass and member of the family’s fifth generation, Antonio Flores –oenologist and master blender of Bodegas Tío Pepe– will unveil the aromas and flavours of Tío Pepe en Rama, a wine that is pure life or "Pura Vida".
