Tío Pepe Cuatro Palmas has been selected as Champion of the Champion’s Trophy at the 2019 International Wine Challenge, thus underlining the success of the González Byass Premium Sherries in competitions this year.

Jerez de la Frontera, July 2019 - Tío Pepe Cuatro Palmas has won the Sherry Champion’s Trophy of the 2019 International Wine Challenge.

Every year, the multi-award-winning master blender Antonio Flores chooses the barrels for the annual edition of the Palmas line. This year, he was supported by sherry expert Natasha Hughes MW.

Cuatro Palmas 2018 comments Antonio Flores as follows, “The selection of Finos Palmas 2018 has clearly been influenced by the climate. We had a mild winter and a cool summer, which influenced the formation of the younger Palmas' pile. But the Cuatro Palmas Amontillado shows how a delicate palomino can mature with elegance and class. This wine is over 35 years old and shows how very old Fino can develop into a complex wine with great aroma depth. ”

The IWC judges described Cuatro Palmas as “An exceptional sherry with lively notes of citrus, hazelnut, almonds and old furniture combined with daring acidity and complex complexity. Balanced and intense end with incomparable elegance. The contemporary taste par excellence. ”

The history of González Byass goes back to 1835. Since then, the sherries have been produced with the same personality and style. The family of wineries has embraced the concepts of quality, innovation and tradition, making them one of the best producers of Spain's wines and spirits.
