On 25th April, the streets, wineries, and vineyards of Jerez will be witness to the fourth Sherry Marathon, the race that brings together sport and the culture of wine. This year race co-sponsor González Byass is fielding its Tío Pepe Eco-Team to support the Zero Waste group.
The not-for-profit group of volunteers organises gatherings to collect waste in different places and townships along the coast of the Bay of Cádiz. On 25th April, Zero Waste will be joining the Tío Pepe Eco-Team along the paths and roads to the vineyards. González Byass is donating cleaning materials such as gloves and other supplies they require for this community work.
Creating the Tío Pepe Eco Team is part of the “5+5 Looking After the Planet” sustainability initiative being rolled out by González Byass”, and is an enhancement to its Sustainable Development Target (SDT) number 15 that advocates protecting the life of land-based ecosystems.
