Ribera del Duero, September 2020 – Mundus Vini 2020, the number one German wine competition, has awarded the Dominio Fournier 2012 Reserva a gold medal.
One hundred and twenty international wine experts and press came together to judge over 4,500 wines from around the world, only 40% of which are awarded a medal, due to the strict rules of the competition.
The team at Dominio Fournier are agronomists, winemakers and grape growers. Sixty years ago they planted the vines that give the wines their character and class. Nestled on the banks of the River Duero the dry, hot summers and long, cold winters make each wine, each sip an experience.
Marian Santamaría, winemaker, said, “We specialise in Tinta del País here at Dominio Fournier, winning a gold medal at this prestigious competition gives us the recognition that we work hard to achieve. Germany is such an important market for us and this medal will give us the endorsement that we strive.”
MUNDUS VINI was founded by Meininger Verlag and has been one of the most important wine competitions in the world. The 4,500 wines that are submitted at the Summer tasting are clear proof of the importance this competition has now achieved in Germany and all over the world. Everywhere in the world, wines are found in the trade and gastronomy, which have been awarded by MUNDUS VINI.
